Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
Nurture ("we", "us") is an iPhone app that helps you keep in touch with people you care about by sharing updates in shared "trees". This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. In short: what you share goes only to the people in that tree, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address (to sign you in with a one-time code), your first name, and an optional profile photo.
- What you share: photos, captions, catch-up notes, questions and hearts you send in a tree, and which trees you belong to.
- Photos on your phone: if you allow photo access, the app shows your recent photos so you can choose some to share. Only the photos you choose and send leave your phone.
- Usage data: anonymous app events, such as "a nurture was sent" or "a tree grew", with counts and settings like your phone's region and time zone. These never include your photos, captions, names or email. We don't store your IP address with them.
- Device information: basic details such as the iPhone model and iOS version, to fix bugs.
How we use it
- To run Nurture: sign you in, show your garden, and deliver what you share to the people in that tree.
- To send reminders you've turned on. These are scheduled on your phone.
- To understand how the app is used so we can improve it, and to fix problems.
- To reply when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Who can see what you share
Anything you share in a tree is visible only to the members of that tree. If you send the same update to several trees, each tree's members see it, but they can't see who else received it or any hearts left in other trees.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Nurture. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: secure database, sign-in and photo storage (United States).
- Resend: delivers sign-in code emails.
- PostHog: anonymous product analytics (United States).
- Apple: app distribution through TestFlight and the App Store.
Your choices
- Analytics: turn off "Share anonymous usage data" in the app's Settings at any time.
- Photos and notifications: change these permissions in your iPhone's Settings at any time.
- Leaving a tree: you can leave any tree.
- Deleting your account: email hello@joinnurture.app from the address you sign in with, and we'll delete your account and the content you've shared within 30 days. An in-app option is coming soon.
- Access or correction: ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, at the same address.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and what you've shared while your account is active, so you and your tree members can look back on it. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our systems within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep by law. Backups are cleared on a rolling basis.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access rules in our database ensure people can only see trees they belong to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Nurture is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
